Making A Healthy Dessert with Inipit

When I was in my elementary days, my mom enrolled in a baking class.  I am so eager to learn so I was the dutiful assistant and learned how to bake at a very young age. Whenever we have celebrations we don't buy cakes anymore  because we love to bake our own cake.

During that time there's no Youtube or even magazine where you can learn baking or cooking and how to use the tools. We have oven and mixer and it's very interesting to learn to use other baking tools. I remember I was amazed of the rubber spatula and that it is such a useful tool.  We love collecting baking tools then.  But eventually we got tired of baking and because of so many cheap baking tools to wash after putting the batter in the oven.  Yes, it's not that easy to bake, it's full of love and labor.

We never use our oven since then but when we won an oven toaster with thermostat control a few months ago, I started to try and bake again.  Baking is very time consuming and so sometimes I come up with some no bake desserts by using Lemon Square INIPIT cake sandwich, where you can find in any supermarket or even sari-sari store nearby and a product by Big E Food Corporation (Philippines).

Here's a sample on how to prepare Healthy Crazy Inipit recipe:

๐Ÿ˜Š You will need Lemon Square Inipit, any flavor or assorted for more surprises.  It is best to put all the ingredients first in the freezer or chiller.
๐Ÿ˜ŠYour choice of flavor of yogurt and use as much as you want.
๐Ÿ˜ŠFruits, well I have caramelized banana so that's what I use for this recipe.
๐Ÿ˜ŠThen chocolate chips and marshmallows.

Cut Inipit sandwich to any desired shape or the size of your serving bowl. Then top it with yogurt.  I choose yogurt because my daughter don't like to eat yogurt alone.  This way this dessert is not just sweets and sweets and sugar. ๐Ÿ˜Š Then top it with your desired fruit, sweetened or fresh. Then cover it again with yogurt.

Sandwich it with another layer of Inipit, then yogurt again and sprinkle it with chocolate chips and mallows.

And so here's a sample of my  quick and easy dessert.  You can serve it at once since it's cold or you may chill it again.

The sour taste of yogurt is just perfect with the the Inipit sandwich and so my daughter and niece got their own share at once.

Happy eating and let me know if you tried this recipe.

 Sarap maging kid with Inipit!

Mother's Day is also my Birthday, The Best Day Ever at Ayala Malls

I was so blessed to be part of the 100 lucky moms who attended the Project Mom Mother's Day Event held at Glorietta5, Makati City.  I won and was chosen to be part of it through Instagram contest by posting my picture with my mom, hashtag ProjetMomGlorietta.

Ayala Malls/Glorietta collaborated with Project Mom's Ms. Amanda Griffin-Jacob (Amanda) and Ms. Bianca Araneta-Elizalde (Bianca) and hosted a one-of-a-kind campaign just for moms. They were the authors of the Project Mom Book, a mom's guide to modern parenting.  Well, they give books as prizes too but I was not lucky to have one.  When I was pregnant with my daughter, I was so hungry for information and my only references are magazines and internet but things being offered are not available here.  But somehow I learned a lot from the internet on how to delivery my baby normally if no one can assist you, and other helpful things to know, but I can't find a community to find supports from other mommies here locally. Well, this book will be a very good guide for local mothers and mothers to be.

I did not expect that they will give awesome freebies and prizes.  When I register, I was so surprised of the Melissa Shoes.  I instantly posted it on my IG, Tweeter and FB accout that 'Sapatos pa lang win win na sobra'. I know how much that kind of shoes because I already have a black pair that I won from other raffle contest.  Thank you so much Melissa Philippines.

More freebies/gifts/giveaways were given before it started. Brownie crunch from Snack Box. I love the succulent cactus from MrandMrsGreenPH.   I just don't know how to take care of it.  :)

Thanks to the art sketch from Avida and artist Ms. Nadja. Flowers from DesignerBlooms. Loots from  OLXPH, and more discount vouchers from other sponsors.  You may use my voucher to Little Harvard Academy.  First to get the certificate number may call them before May 16 to get P500 discount.  (Just enlarge my photo below or DM on my instagram.)

There's also workshop from LapommeHome and my daughter was very delighted to maker her own doll.  They offer hand-crafted kiddie plushies.

We were serenaded by the Mandaluyong Children Choir and I don't really pay attention to them kasi naiiyak ako kapag tungkol sa nanay ang songs.  Winners were called for Rudy watches from Canon and winners for bags.  I wished to be called for bigger prize since its my birthday and to my surprise I saw my name and won a Canon camera for posting photos on social media during the event .  Other big prizes are hotel accommodations.  Congratulations to all mommies, they are all winners.  Thank you so much  Canon Philippines for my new camera.  I really need this and it has a wifi, this is awesome.

Some mommies with kids were invited to join KIMY surprise challenges.  We won and thanks Nestle Philippines for the voucher P1,500 worth of Kimys.  Lots of KIMYs were given and the kids are happy for the unlimited KIMYs.

Loots bags are filled from other sponsors and thank you HelloMessyBessy, Giftsandgracesfairtrade and Life.links for the accessories, Moringa O2 for hair care products, Sunlife PH for the cute money banks where we can allocate our loose change for savings, spending and sharing and  Ysabel's Daughter for the bath soaps.

More talks from Fluffy Pwets about cloth diapering.  I would recommend this to lessen our non-biodegradable trashes and it will save you more.  I like the birth talk from Irina Otmakhova.  I believe in normal delivery and I hope more young women will know more about her advocacy.

I thank God for so much blessings and of course Project Mom for this kind of event.

The day was not over yet when saw that HavaianasPhils is having an event of Make Your Own  Havaianas in Glorietta Activity Center.  We registered to see the event but ended up joining the Summer Selfie by Globe where you will sign up, download Globe Cloud, play games and receive eco bags and powerbanks.

Before going home I tried the new McDo McRib.  It's good and I like it.  I just didn't win in the Mcdo dubsmash contest on IG but well I still thank for all the blessings I received.

Kalabasa (Squash) Cake in a Rice Cooker

I'm so blessed in online promos and I want to thank Magnolia All-Purpose Cream for the prize of Magnolia products and kitchen equipments that I won in a promo through Facebook last December. We also won a Turbo Broiler and Oven Toaster from Eden Cheese and that's why we love to bake and experiment new recipes.  Here's my cute assistant Anika, my niece who loves to help and of course eat our finished product.  This is when we make Fudge Brownie by Magnolia.

Since we have Magnolia All-Purpose Flour, I always think of what to do with it.  I already make Banana Cake and Banana Bread.  The difference is that the cake is sweeter and soft while the bread is bland - less sugar and more water.  I found a blog post long time ago about banana cake cooked in a rice cooker and now I made Squash Cake cooked in Rice Cooker also.

I grated 1/4 of a medium size squash and that's about more or less two cups. I didn't measure most of my ingredients and I just want to make from scratch. Then I add maybe about 3/4 cup of brown sugar and let it sit there while I prepare other ingredients. I put a little more than a cup of all-purpose flour in a separate bowl, add a dash of salt, a dash of cinnamon, about a teaspoon of baking soda and baking powder. I just mix and mix it because I'm too lazy to sift it and I just want to prepare it without so much effort. Then in another bowl, I beat three eggs and add about 3 tablespoon brown sugar and about 1/4 cup of canola oil, then I add the squash and noticed that the sugar already melted. Then mix it just using a spatula.

My assistant greased my teflon inner pot this time, while I added the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and mix it until I don't see any lumps. The mixture is just perfect, not too dry and not too wet. (I'm sorry I have no photo.) When I put it in the rice cooker and set it on cook, I made sure that I will cook it for only an hour. After five minutes I heard that the rice cooker set on warm and I can't set it again on cook setting and so I waited for 5 minutes to set it on cook setting again. After 10 minutes I noticed it's on warm setting again. I don't need to force the rice cooker to cook it and so I waited and after 10 minutes I set it on 'cook' again. And so everytime it sets on warm I just wait 5 to 10 minutes to press the cook setting. And so after and hour, I used the fork to check the cake and it's done.

PH Campaign - Grand Christmas Sale Mega Days

I let it cool for 10 minutes and when I flipped it I thought it's burnt  but when I slice it, it's just PERFECT and I love the burnt side. It's not too sweet and doesn't taste squash at all because my daughter ate 3 servings. When she saw my instagram posting that it was made of squash, she regretted eating it. Kids just don't want to eat veggies but she said she didn't tasted the squash and loved it anyway. I could have put vanilla flavor for sweet aroma but I don't have on hand and maybe I could have not mixed the baking powder. I don't really know the use of baking powder and maybe next time I will try without it.

I'm so glad it was a success and we finished it within the day.  I wonder how much our electricity bill will increase this month. :) Have a nice day everyone.

Lucky to Receive Samples of Ponds Products

Were you lucky to grab a sample of POND'S from Sample Room?  Wait, are you not yet a member of Sample Room?  You can register for free and you will get 100 points upon signing up.  I became a member a year ago but whenever I visit the site, there's no stock available of the products I want to receive.  Got lucky two weeks ago and received these from Sample Room wherein you can try products before you buy it.

I have been using POND'S products for so long and that's the only hiyang for my face.  I can still vividly remember that my mom was using Ponds too when I was just a little girl.  Wow, that was a very long time ago.  I have tried all Ponds facial foams and this new POND'S Pearl Cleansing Gel is very different.
This is my second day of using this new facial wash and this is one of a kind.  You will instantly notice the scent and it was so refreshing.  I really really LIKE the smell and it leave my skin so soft and clean. I fell in LOVE with this.  I don't know what's oxygenated gel is but it is so cool and you would want to wash and wash your face and it's really mabango

"Pearl Essence allows better absorption which is known and tested for noticeable skin whitening. With its oxygenated formulation, it also cleanses and refreshes while locking in moisture, making skin softer and smoother."

I did not write a review about this on the first day of use because I want to see the effect on the second day and indeed I'm so satisfied.  I have a combination of skin type and today is just perfect, not oily and not dry and very soft. The Dewy Rose Gel  is more fragrant and cool.  That's what I noticed immediately and well, very perfect for my skin. It's a whitening soft gel, a good primer and I leave it on for 30 minutes before putting on powder. I noticed that my powder last longer and so smooth to put on. I'm gonna try my BB Cream too some other time.

I feel so moisturized all day long and it feels like my face is so ready to be painted with make-ups. I'm glad to discover this and goodbye to my Pinkish White Beauty products.  Well not actually because my little lady - a third generation POND'S user is also using my old products.

Thank you so much Sample Room and POND's for these and for keeping us younger looking. It's very matipid because you just need a pea size. It feel and smell expensive and I'm so glad it's very affordable and already available in all beauty products section. I can say I will never leave home without it.  I know the difference of not using any POND'S products.  I can see it with other non-user friends.  If you're one of my friends, you know, you better try these and see the changes.  It's time to level up.

Digital Lifestyle of a Promo Junkie and a Winner

Hi there, thanks for visiting my page.  I'm Nelina Gatong, 42, single parent, a promo junkie, a small home-based digital photo printing business owner and I'm here to document my day in Blogopolis:Shifting Gears wherein I attended for free and to thank all my sponsors who gave me the prizes I received and that what I'm using these days.

I love joining online contests, oh no, I love winning and that's why I'm addicted to promos. I was able to attend the Nuffnang Blogopolis event in Dusit Thani Hotel last February 21, 2015 where I got the ticket for free together with my cousin who won a ticket too. Here's #MyCongrats.

My day started with an alarm from my LED lamp with digital clock that I received two weeks ago from Charmee by joining their Girl Club.  Anyone can still join and win a LED lamp by answering  their everyday questions.

Going to events and spending time away from home means no income. And so by joining contests to win prizes will provide us the things we need. As a promo junkie, I always check my Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and emails, every hour and everyday for latest promos, freebies and list of winners of course. I spend not less than 5 hours a day and with this lifestyle, I'm so updated of promos, news, and technology.  I brought my new O+ 360 Extreme which I just  got from Yugatech contest last week and I got a chance to personally thank Mr. Abe Olandres.  There was no sim included and so I bought a Globe Kapamilya sim and I'm loving it.

At the Blogopolis I was able to learn about this Lifestyle plan being offered by Globe to get free phones. Check it here http://www.globe.com.ph/iphone6/offers.

I'm a newbie in blogging and still learning what blogging will give me rewards later on.  There was an issue brought up that some are blogging just to get freebies and invites.  Well what's wrong with freebies, and giveaways are part of enticing participants to come.  I love freebies but most of what I got are prizes and I deserve those.  Joining contests is fun and depressing too but in the end it's not the prize, it's who you are.  I need to be reminded always by this video:

Well I cannot live without gadgets, with these gadgets, I won prizes I need and things I never imagine I will ever have, and I hope to get an iPhone this time because my S4 which I got from PLDT as a prize is already broken.   I promise if I get an iPhone6 I will take care of it as I'm taking care of my one and only precious daughter who is celebrating her birthday today.  By the way, she will get my O+360 as a gift.

During the event, I got freebies and of course I need to be prepared and be online for posting photos to get prizes too.  Well I didn't win any major prize but being there is a big prize for me.  Seeing again the famous bloggers and learning a thing or two is just overwhelming and giving good vibes and hope that blogging will make a difference.

Here are the other online prizes and freebies I got for the last week. From contests and just playing games from Fiesta7, freebies from Everydayme, 3k worth of goodies from DelMonteJuices, flash drive from Sykes E Recruitment, and 10k from Seven Eleven.

There were bloggers who are judging promonatics or promo junkies and calling us promo maniacs, please understand that we put effort and time in joining contest and it's not just luck, it's a blessing if we got the prize and it's a blessing to share prizes too.  It's a source of income too for me and reaching our dreams.  We are developing logic and creativity and patience here and learning to be generous and meeting and making friends with online winners like me. This technology brought so much blessings for my family and I thank God for this digital life we are having.
